I have 2 dogs and recently adopted a stray kitten. I used to bring my dogs to another vet and I am soooo happy We switched animal hospital. Brought in a stray kitten we found outside for its first round of shots and massapequa animal hospital gave us a discount on the bill because he was a stray and we are taking him in as our own! I can not tell you how grateful my husband and I are for this especially during this covid situation. Truly caring faculty and I trust their entire staff. Thank you!
My mom started coming here before I was born, at the very start of its opening. After moving to the North Shore, we still always used MHFA. Dr. Schatz is & has been the most incredible veterinarian for all the dogs we’ve ever had. 40 years later & all grown up...myself, my 3 sisters, & my mom all still come here, from all over Long Island. Most of us are about 40 minutes away, but the trip is well worth it! We LOVE Dr. Schatz, his colleagues, & entire staff like family. They are our safe haven & our friends. Their warmth & compassion radiates in every welcome, smile, phone call, appointment, & hand written note. I often say, “I wish Dr. Schatz could be my doctor. I would trust him with my life!
I can't thank Dr. Schatz and Dr. Fish enough for the wonderful care that Bailey received during the 16 and 1/2 years he was taken care of by them. Their staff from the veterinarians, office staff to the techs were wonderful and caring. Bailey passed August 20, 2019. They told me he was the dog with 9 lives. Without all their experience, love and knowledge Bailey wouldn't have made 16 1/2 years. He was a wonderful dog and the light of our lives. He is missed every day. Thank you again.
Dr. Fish, I just want to thank you for your note and kind words you wrote about Ruby. You know how much she meant to us and it was a very difficult decision. I watched her crawl to go outside to relieve herself without ever an incident. Her back legs were gone and she then developed pitting edema. I cried for a week and still am. Your staff were very supportive. She was a gentle giant and is horribly missed. On a happier note, we have adopted a 3 month old puppy named Benny. I sent away for his DNA and he is 80% Boxer and 20% Border Collie. He is a far cry from Ruby yet we have bonded with him. You shall be seeing him very soon. You have always given me your time either in person or on the phone when I had concerns about Ruby and I cannot say enough good things about You, Thank you Dr. Fish (Feel free to post this on your website)
Dr. Schatz is the best. He helped and took care of our two puppies for their whole lives and in their last days he helped us to do the right thing for them. Thank you always.
I now live in FL, but I still keep in touch with Dr. Schatz. He has taken care of just about all of my dogs and cats since I am 15 years old. That's 36 years. We still think of him often, and we always got the best care for our pets at MHFA. Dr. Schatz is down to Earth, not an alarmist, and I've never been "raked over the coals" here. We miss messing with him. They're great there! BTW, that's MY cat Gannicus in this pic! Miss the docs and the staff.
